Stop hiring based on experience and skills. Start hiring based on enthusiasm and attitude. Skills can be taught. Experience can be gained. Attitude cannot. Someone who is willing and able to learn with a genuine curiosity for the role has the potential to grow into an outstanding employee. Let this be your sign to take a chance on the applicant that looks under qualified on paper. #jobsearch #hiring

Gen X guy who actually knows what he is doing, here. Why, exactly, are experience and a positive attitude mutually exclusive? And, honestly, given the choice between a surgeon who has done 1000 operations and is a bit of a crumedgeon and a fresh faced doc straight out of med school saying “I always wanted to try a quadrupole bypass” just as the mask goes on, I know who I would pick.

People can't actually get these experiences if you don't take a chance on them
