When your job is the intersection of your purpose, passion, and skill, then you are in the right and happy place! Few can claim that they are, but today I met a leader who certainly is! Gustavo A. Garcia, MSIT, is the Chief IT Officer at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, and he is certainly at this fortunate intersection of his passion, purpose, and skill. I was incredibly inspired by my conversation with Gustavo. His passion for his purpose is contagious. His title is CIO, but what he is doing is changing lives and enabling others to change more lives, while having a clear and inspiring vision for his organization and their technology roadmap. He reminded me of the 8th Habit of Stephen Covey which is all about “finding your voice and inspiring others to find theirs”. Gustavo spends his days building world-class tech stacks, serving food in soup kitchens, ensuring underprivileged children receive proper education, and wearing a Sheriff’s hat, when needed, for fun and to tackle urgent topics! I’m thrilled to welcome him and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn to Intuit Lighthouse. He has already made many valuable contributions and there are many more to come. I can’t wait to meet Gustavo in person and go serve soup alongside him! Thank you so much Gustavo for the inspiration and the partnership.
