🪡💎 From zipper to jewel In 1930s Paris, the zipper appears as a bold innovation in couture — sleek and functional. In an instant, buttons become outdated. Inspired by the advent of the zipper in couture, Van Cleef & Arpels imagines an ingeniously elegant way to celebrate its design. After over ten years of research, the first Zip necklace is created in 1950. Ingeniously transformable into a bracelet, it bridges fashion and High Jewelry. Ruby ribbons, tassels and lace-like goldwork reflect the Maison’s tribute to the craftsmanship of couture. Pour célébrer cet avènement, la Maison Van Cleef & Arpels crée le collier Zip, qui voit le jour en 1950 après plus de dix ans de recherche.
