The Maison KARL LAGERFELD and its Sustainability Ambassador, Amber Valletta, are proud to introduce a limited-edition tote bag. Created in collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative, it celebrates local creative heritage, promotes female empowerment and supports sustainable development. The tote’s textiles were sourced in Burkina Faso from organic, 100% rain-fed cotton, and dyed using GOTS certified dyes. The “Faso Dan Fani” textiles were then hand-woven by female artisans in Burkina Faso. Finally, the bags were made by Artisan Fashion and Tujikuze in Nairobi, and embellished with intricate glass beadwork made by artisans at Tujikuze’s network in Gilgil. "This tote is more than a bag — it celebrates creativity, community, and thoughtful design,” says Amber Valletta. “Collaborating on this project has been an energizing experience, highlighting our interconnectedness and the beauty of honoring traditional heritage alongside contemporary design." With just 320 exclusive pieces available worldwide, each one-of-a-kind bag is individually numbered and signed by the artisan who made it.

2moMy question is how much of the profit goes back into the local communities that made this bag possible?
