Forty five years ago this week I started as a management trainee with the First National Bank of Maryland. Today I retire from another First National Bank; FNB Corporation. Phenomenal bookends to a career that passed in a flash. Thank you to all the amazing people along the way who mentored me, encouraged me, worked with and for me, along with countless clients who made it all happen. Thanks Mac for a great capstone ten years. To Dean and Boot, whom I can’t thank in person as they watch from above, I wish I could buy both of you one of your favorite bourbons to celebrate. I’m now off to dedicate my second act to my beloved Society of the Cincinnati and the heroes of the American Revolution! Huzzah!
Congratulations on an amazing career, Hugh! I will look forward to being part of your second career. Cheers!
Hugh, wow! The end of an era. I remember those early days although you had a year lead on me. Believe it or not I remember your kindness to me as a wet behind the ears country boy in the big Baltimore city. You taught me how to properly fill out the paoerwork to open a new checking acoount….and I do mean paper. Best of health to you. “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Congratulations Hugh!
