It’s an incredible, humbling honor now to serve as the new State Senator for District 1 (SD1). This campaign was never “my campaign;” it was always “our campaign.” It was never “me;” it was always “we.” I want to express my deepest gratitude to each person who participated in this election. Your voice mattered and your participation mattered. We ran a campaign based on Delaware values. A campaign consistent with the tradition of those who preceded me. Specifically, Former SD1 Sen. Harris McDowell and Former SD1 Senator and now Delaware Congresswoman Sarah McBride. Those values include: + The Fight for working families and our senior citizens. + The Fight for economic security, educational opportunity and good paying jobs. + The Fight for the privacy and security of women’s health care decisions. + The Fight for human dignity and respect for all of those among us who are now being attacked and harassed. Our values are not political issues, they are human issues, and I will fight for them - and you - every day. We are all in this together. We must stand and fight together because that is how we win together. I see promise in my SD1 neighbors. I see what is possible in them, in you. And I’m ready to get to work for all of SD1.
