Clayton Bryan’s Post

Food for thought: Will there be an 8 foot robot in the NBA in the not too distant future? And/or imagine playing NBA2k with robots versus pixels on a screen. https://lnkd.in/gGNaQQ6y

Fascinating thought, Clayton. As a former pro athlete and AI builder, I’ve been thinking about this too. I think may see new sports emerge built for robots (vs robots in traditional sports). Perhaps ones that are too dangerouse for humans. Ohanian’s (Reddit founder) investment thesis on this resonates: in an AI-saturated world, human performance/grit might become even more valuable and he’s been backing that belief with real investments. I hope the future is both, robots flying through high-octane action-sport arenas and humans creating those unforgettable underdog overtime moments we all love. At its core, sports = entertainment, will spectacle out compete human connection? But what about a hybrid human-robot league? Could it exist? And if so…what sports could we actually compete in with or against robots?
