🌈 This Pride Month, CareerVillage celebrates our vibrant LGBTQIA+ community while also using this moment to amplify the realities many LGBTQIA+ workers still face. As the Aspen Institute highlights: 🏳️🌈 Nearly 50% of the community has faced unfair treatment in the workplace with higher rates amongst people of color and trans folks. 🏳️🌈 About 1 in 3 LGBTQIA+ employees have quit their jobs or pursued alternate career paths due to concerns of discrimination. 🏳️🌈 A majority of LGBTQIA+ people report household earnings of less than $50,000 a year compared to 36% of the general population And yet, there’s hope. Across the country, employers, non-profit organizations, and communities are coming together to reimagine work as a space for economic mobility and equity. Pride is a celebration but it’s also a call to action. Let’s create sustainable career pathways for every job seeker and learner.
