I recently had the pleasure of joining Noah Kravitz on the NVIDIA podcast to discuss the role AI is beginning to play in transforming biopharma, and the work we're doing at Bristol Myers Squibb to bring its promise to life.   We talked about a few ways AI is already making a difference at BMS:  1. Revealing hidden patterns in chemical and biological data to speed up drug discovery 2. Powering predictive models that use historical data to predict the likelihood of success for new hypotheses, speeding up drug development 3. Supercharging operations across nearly every facet of our work, often helping us accomplish in seconds what used to take hours    As I told Noah, there’s really never been a more exciting time to be a technologist in the life sciences. Fascinating conversation; thank you for highlighting Bristol Myers Squibb and Greg Meyers how AI is reshaping drug discovery and development. In my recent article, I explored how AI can also deepen patient engagement when designed to listen and respond with care. As we integrate these tools, centering patient voices must be part of how we define innovation. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/when-machines-listen-can-ai-deepen-patient-engagement-shafia-rashid

Thank you Greg for sharing your experiences and insights. And for “being in the arena” trying to bring this technology to drive meaningful impact for drug development and ultimately for patients.

This Greg Meyers/Noah Kravitz conversation offers lessons re AI transformation for CXOs in all industries. Fascinating how Meyers leads AI-fueled innovation at Bristol Myers Squibb, where experimentation must be more structured than in, say, marketing, design, consumer-tech, or architecture..

Looking forward to listening! As we push the boundaries, a thought-provoking challenge emerges: beyond pure efficiency, how do we ensure the explainability and interpretability of these AI-driven insights, particularly as they feed directly into regulatory submissions and patient-facing decisions? The real transformation may lie in how we bridge the gap between AI's power and the critical need for human understanding and regulatory trust.
