B. Braun Group’s Post

We deeply mourn the passing of Professor M. Gazi Yaşargil, widely regarded as the “father of modern neurosurgery.” His visionary work profoundly shaped the evolution of neurosurgical techniques. We are honored and grateful to have supported his contributions through our collaboration on innovations in microsurgical instruments, retractors, and aneurysm clips - tools that remain vital in neurosurgery to this day. This collaboration holds a special place in B. Braun`s history, in particular for our surgical division Aesculap, and we remain committed to upholding and continuing his legacy.

During my time at Aesculap AG, I had the privilege of meeting Professor M. Gazi Yaşargil at LMU Munich Großhadern. It was a truly inspiring encounter with a pioneer whose work has left an enduring mark on the field of neurosurgery. May he rest in peace.
