What is cinematic work?

(upbeat music) - So Francis, we hear the word cinematic all the time. cinematic this, cinematic that. What does cinematic mean to you? - Well, to me, cinematic means following a certain set of rules when it comes to shooting video or photography. That could be rule of thirds, golden ratio, thinking about camera movement, of flying close to the ground. Basically anything that doesn't look like you're flying 300 feet up in the air. - I like your definition a lot. So I have a slightly different definition of what cinematic is, and that is something that would be suitable to use in a movie, in other words, cinema. So in my opinion, cinematic has anything that is beautiful. A beautiful shot would be a cinematic shot, but that's for me. - So as you can tell that we both have different definitions of cinematic, and cinematic is a very subjective term. Basically what it means is anything that looks pretty. If you want to get an idea of what cinematic shots look like, just look at the movies, TV shows, whatever drone shots that they have. You can reference that as cinematic. - Right.
