Creating a staging plan
- On every shoot our goal right off the bat is to get things up and rolling as soon as we can. We want to get the most production time as possible to capture our content. We have a lot of departments to make a production work, so identifying where everyone can work ahead of time can save you a lot of time when you're loading in and trying to get things started. That's where creating a staging plan comes in. Some things we always want to include in a staging plan is a staging area for gear. We always want to have a safe place to put gear, right? You don't want your crew worried about if their gear's going to get stolen, or where it's going to go, or if it's close, or where it is. Where's it going to be convenient, easily accessible, and safe. Where are you going to put makeup? Sometimes I'm in some very interesting locations, and I've had to build my own wardrobe and makeup staging area with like sound blankets and my own…
