Map template fields to library columns
- [Instructor] The next step in creating the modern template is to insert data fields for the information that will be replaced in the populated finished document and map those fields to corresponding metadata in the SharePoint library. Let's name our first field, I'll start with the client name. So we'll create a new field and we'll say client name. In the case of this field, I want to replace the term in the template document with content. So I want to make sure that the first option is selected, use as content field. I'm not quite sure why you'd have a template field that wouldn't be replaced. Now I'm going to highlight the first place that the term occurs, and then click confirm in the panel on the right. And this sets this up as a data field. Now client appears elsewhere in the document, and one of the beauties of this tool is that I can use it to replace all the instances of the term at once.
