- People often interact with autonomous systems in ways that we don't expect. Despite many of our attempts to make automated safety systems be appealing, people are often both frightened and feel threatened by robotic systems that use AI either for convenience or surveillance. For example, several organizations that develop surveillance robots have branded them as easily relatable mini humans or metallic versions of our fuzzy friends. Despite these efforts, people are still skeptical and these systems are biased in ways that are not transparent.
