Using aggregations
- [Instructor] In the previous video, we unioned and joined the data we need. This allowed us to extend our data source both by with in joining and in length by unioning. I want to analyze my sales by month and category, so the next step I'm looking for is aggregation. Aggregation is how we condense information into fewer rows by calculating the totals for a certain partition. By clicking on the plus icon of the last step in our flow, we can add an aggregation step. Our profile pane now shows a list of yields, and we can insert them either as group fields or as aggregated fields. In my case, I want to know the sum of my total price, so I drag total price to the aggregated fields. I could change the aggregation by clicking on sum at the top of the field, but actually sum is exactly what I'm looking for. Let me pull this up a little. We can see that the data grid at the bottom now shows a preview of how my data will look. Currently, this aggregation would only yield one single number…
