Direct editing: Split

- [Instructor] When you're working with Direct Editing and you're working with solid body, there's times you may want to cut your solid body into multiple pieces so you can operate on one of those pieces and not have it affect the other piece. So in this example here, I'm going to show you exactly how to do that. So I've got a shape right here and I have this little line as an offset line in there. I'm going to go over to Direct Editing. I'm going to come up here to the Split command. And when you click into the Split command, it's going to ask you to choose a part template. So I'm going to choose this part template right here and that assembly right there. And if it doesn't ask you, that's fine 'cause you already have it set up. So it's going to automatically choose your default templates. Click okay. And now right over here, my trim tool, I want to use this line to trim and cut this part in half.
