10 tips for social interactions
- Now that we've covered all the topics of this course, let's recap the 10 main tips to remember about social interactions in a multinational team. One, yours is just one view of the world. It's not better or worse than any other view. It's just different and as valued as anybody else's. Two, knowing other cultures makes you richer. Having coworkers from different parts of the world is a treasure, and you should learn everything you can from each other. Three, communication is a two-way street. When misunderstandings happen, it's not just one person's fault. Both people should try and repair communication. Four, listen. Before making your point, make sure you listen and understand the other person's perspective in any situation, not only on the job. Five, recognize differences. Failing to do so doesn't help communication nor avoid incomprehensions. Six, many little things get in the way of effective communication. It can be a gesture, a position, a look, a greeting.
