- If sales people could have it our way we'd have all the information we possibly could on our prospects and their activities. When they came to our website and what they looked at. When they went to other websites and what they looked at there. Who they are, and what their role is within their company and the previous buying habits. The deeper the information, the higher the value, but various data protection laws worldwide prevent us from having that information to hand. The laws have been put in place to protect us all so they must be respected, but there are always software and data suppliers willing to push the limits as far as they'll go and give us the most information they're allowed to share. Making our jobs as easy as possible. In the past, marketing could only tell us how many people viewed our website and how well we ranked on search engines.
