- [Instructor] By default, Power BI will aggregate numeric fields. Using the sum aggregation, you have the option to change its default aggregation by changing the properties for the field in the model view in the Power BI desktop, the aggregation options for a field will depend on its data type and properties. Let's start by looking at the properties for the sales table in the model view of Power BI, the table has a field called quantity. So let's select quality and let's have a look at its properties. So if we go to the advanced section of these properties, we're able to see three options, sort by column, data category, and summarized by. For data, the data category will limit the types of summarizations that we can do for that particular field. For now, let's assume that uncategorized is good for our purposes, let's have a look at the options for summarized by that we have available for the quantity field. So…
