Power BI Desktop and the exercise files

- [Instructor] It's important to have a working knowledge of the Power BI Desktop for the PL-300 exam. So go to powerbi.microsoft.com if you haven't yet downloaded the Power BI Desktop application. To the left of the screen, we see Microsoft Power BI Desktop. Go to Advanced. And on this screen, you'll see Download. From here, we'll be able to select whether the 32 or 64-bit version, whichever is our preference. I'm choosing the 64-bit. Click Download once more. And then the download will start. So I'll skip ahead. And here, we're in the Power BI Desktop. So I've loaded the sample file that we'll be using for this course. And this file was built using the publicly available AdventureWorks SQL database. So I've gone through and made the necessary transformations to get this file ready for the examples that we'll be using. So feel free to follow along. In terms of Power BI updates, it's fairly often that you'll see Power BI updates, at least a few times per month. So be sure to subscribe to the Power BI blog to be notified when there are updates. The exam will typically test you on features that are generally available, so that's most important here. So be sure to get familiar with all the features that are generally available for the purposes of working through the knowledge areas on the exam. And then, of course, if there is anything else, feel free to refer to the Microsoft Power BI documentation for any changes that may impact you.
