Common pitfalls in creating relationships
- [Instructor] Relationships allow us to see data correctly when loading our visualizations. Relationships are connections between tables that determine how the data will be filtered. You'll need to configure relationships appropriately to see the intended data. There are three types of cardinality that we mentioned during this chapter. One-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-one, and many-to-many. The most common of these is the one-to-many where you have one unique value to many values in another table. We use the options and settings to determine the default behavior for all detecting or importing our relationships. We use the managed relationships in the model view to create new or existing relationships. Before we review common mistakes, let's take a look at a common mistake of all totals showing the same value.
