So now you've learned about availability and scalability. Let's look at a couple of concepts related to reliability and predictability. And the first is fault tolerance. Now, a fault occurs when a failure happens. What kind of failure? It could actually be a lot of things. And all of the things we talked about when we covered high availability could be considered false. A networking problem, a power outage, a hardware failure, so on. Fault tolerance means that you can tolerate a fault. It means that even if a fault happens, you still maintain availability. Now, the cloud offers many features that provide fault tolerance, and we'll cover some of those throughout this course. A fault usually refers to something that causes a problem on a smaller scale. But there's another kind of problem that can impact availability, and that's a disaster. A disaster is a large scale event, and it's more impactful than a fault. A…
