- Vlookup and Hlookup may be the original lookup functions that were introduced in Microsoft Excel, but now there's newer and better available with Xlookup. We spoke about the fact that Vlookup allows you to look up values vertically in a range, while Hlookup allows you to look up values horizontally in a range.
