From the course: Learning Microsoft Dynamics 365: The Basics

Working with dashboards

- [Instructor] Wouldn't it be nice if you had a single screen that instantly shows you everything you need to know to track sales, monitor leads, or plan your next move? Well, that's exactly what Dashboards in Dynamics 365 Sales are for. Think of Dashboards as your mission control, a real-time snapshot of your pipeline, sales performance, and key activities. You can access the Dashboards from the navigation pane on the left hand side. The default dashboard is the Sales Activity Dashboard, where I can see my Open Opportunities, my Open Leads, and also an Assistant telling me what my next steps might be. Let's scroll down on the page. From here, I can see My Open Opportunities and my Closed Opportunities in the current timeframe. Let's expand the Dashboards menu, and notice I have additional dashboards available to me, including my Sales Activity Dashboard, my Sales Dashboard, and my Performance Dashboard. Personally, I have a favorite dashboard, and it's this one, the Sales Dashboard. This gives me a list view of all of My Activities, My Open Opportunities, and My Open Leads, kind of like my checklist for the day. Although it's beyond the scope of this course, you can actually create your own Dashboards as well. Dashboards are your go-to tool for quick insights. Keep exploring, and make the most of them.
