- We've touched on working with business stakeholders and customers to be a better tech practitioner. Easier said than done, I know. Let's dig into what that actually means and how it looks in practice. In other words, the User-Centered Design or UCD framework. UCD is a collection of processes that focus on putting users at the center of product design and development. Its key tenant is empathy, not something that usually comes to mind when most of us think about tech, right? But it's just as important as the language you're coding in or the due date of the project. You center the user through the process steps of planning, designing, prototyping, and reviewing. Let's go back to our example of Kris's website. After collaborating on the best approach for people to contact Kris, you realize that there may be more you've overlooked.
