You should want to get to know your boss. When you understand what's important to your boss, you can align your efforts and reach your fullest potential. Here's how to get started. First, schedule a meeting. Set a time to connect with your manager and discuss their overall annual goals for the team and their quarterly objectives. This is your opportunity to demonstrate how you can take initiative and can communicate effectively. Next, ask key questions. In order to truly understand your boss's priorities, consider asking What are the top three goals you want our team to achieve this quarter? And why are they important? What is your vision for our team over the next year, and how do you see my role contributing to that vision?
