- Up until this point, we've built pipelines, organized the data and created data models. Now we get to build something that looks good and has the potential to increase revenue at our company. In our lifecycle of data, we now have reached the final step, visualization. Coming back to our water well analogy, up until this point, we've built a pipeline, moved data from the source to our warehouse, distilled the data, and bottled it in a data model. It'd be a shame if we kept our bottled data in the warehouse and didn't share it with the company. One of the best ways to steer a company towards data-driven decisions is to give the key contributors access to the data. Popular forms of sharing data include reports, spreadsheets, and dashboards. Our goal is to build a dashboard for our sales manager that will allow them to track sales orders and their delivery locations.
