Generative AI vs. large language models
- There's been a recent post about generative AI in large language models, LLMs. If you think they're related, you're right. Both are generative. In fact, LLMs are a type of generative AI. These are some of the differences. First, generative AI is focused on content creation in different data formats across industries. This could be text, images, video, code, or even 3D models. There are a lot of examples. LLMs are primarily focused on the specific type of content creation, natural language generation, and understanding for sequences like text and speech data. There are several machine learning techniques and architectures such as generative adversarial networks, variational auto encoders, diffusion models, transformers used in generative AI. While LLMs are mostly based on transformers, understanding this difference is useful in deciding on the right tools for your use case and their limitations. This can also be a demonstration of your understanding of how the industry works.
