- [Instructor] It all starts with the design. Many of the world's best service models adopt this rather fancy-sounding framework called user-centered design, also known as user-centric design. It's a discipline in its own right but at the end of the day, user-centered design is pretty much jargon for setting things out in a way where customers don't have to think. That's right. Just picture your favorite apps or big box retailers. They're slick, they flow. You feel like you float through the experience and then suddenly, before you know it, six hours has passed and you've missed that important meeting or forgotten to pick up the kids. Now, when it comes to spreadsheets, I'm certainly not suggesting that we need to emulate the IKEA business model but there are some lessons that we can learn from this customer-oriented model.
