- [Instructor] What if we want to create standardized formulas, just one time, name them, and then have them apply to our data everywhere, not just a cell, not just a single column. Is that possible? Well, with Dax Measures in Power Pivot, the answer is yes. Measures offer consistency, no broken formulas across worksheets. They offer scalability. They can work on thousands or millions of rows of data, and they offer flexibility. They work across different filters, time periods, departments and more. In a prior lesson, I introduce you to calculated columns, which create new fields inside of your data, one result per row. But measures are a little bit different. Measures summarize or calculate results based upon context. They only show up when you use them in a visual or a pivot table through Power Pivot.
