- [Instructor] When you create a PivotTable, Excel applies some formatting that lets you distinguish the labels and organizational layers from the data in the body of the PivotTable. Excel comes with a substantial number of built-in styles from which to choose. So if you want to change your PivotTable's formatting, you can do so quickly. In this movie, I will show you how to work with formatting in a PivotTable and apply styles. My sample file is 04_01_ApplyStyle, and you can find it in the chapter four folder of the exercise files collection. This workbook contains a PivotTable and it has some basic formatting applied to it. I have a background color for my headers and also for the grand total and the values in the grand total and also the labels. For the row labels control column labels control, and retail and wholesale sales types are all bold as well. So that's the overall formatting.
