Enhancing readability with proportion
- [Instructor] Our next principle of design is one of those principles that makes good logical sense when you pause to consider it. The eighth principle of design to explore here is proportion. Proportionally-sized elements help audiences identify with recognizable objects and can bring a sense of balance, emphasis, and harmony into your designs, while also providing clues to viewers about which parts of the content are more important than others. Correctly-sized elements, especially text, can improve the readability of text and improve the user's overall experience with a product or service. In digital design, we can define proportion as the visual relationship between two or more things in terms of their size or dimensions, their amount, an uncountable number, their number, a specific quantity, or their degree, which has to do with levels.
