- [Instructor] There are any number of different reasons why it's a good idea to have a cloud exit strategy. But oftentimes all of those reasons boil down to two things. Having a cloud exit strategy can help you to mitigate risks and it can help you to control cost. So let's talk about that a little bit. Starting with mitigating risk. The big question is what type of risks? Well, as I mentioned in the previous video, there were any number of things that could potentially happen in the future that might force you to migrate an application away from the cloud. So one of the things that could happen is the cloud provider could go out of business. Right now that may seem unlikely, especially if you've migrated an application to a hyperscaler cloud, but there's nothing guaranteeing that that cloud provider is still going to be in business five years from now, 10 years from now. We just don't know what the future holds so having a cloud exit strategy can help you to plan for those types of…
