- I've heard it said that those that can't do, teach. And those that can't teach, become consultants. I don't believe that's true because good consultants get to implement their solutions. And implementation is where you demonstrate you can consult, teach, and do. So let's talk about the conditions or perquisites you'll want to put in place with your client prior to implementing your solutions. First and foremost, confirm your client understands what you'll be implementing. While you may have diligently worked with your sponsor and other stakeholders, implementing your solution means that a broader set of stakeholders need to understand what's about to happen. Ensure your expanded stakeholders are identified, and aware of the upcoming implementation, aware of the risk and benefits to expect, and have identified which members of their staff need to be involved in the implementation, and use of your solution.
