- [Instructor] Text is one of those things that you often don't think of being part of a dashboard, but it can serve two really good purposes. Firstly, you can use it as an explanation on what the data is showing, what it's not showing, and how to interpret it, what you've seen. And secondly, it can be really useful if you've used a chart type that's not standard or a bit unusual. You might have to explain to somebody how to read that chart. So this very much depends on the audience of your dashboard. So if you need to put X explanation about the data or the chart type you've used, text is a really good thing to add. So let's look at an example of adding some text to a dashboard. So if I just create a simple dashboard using our sheets, so maybe I've got my profit and I've got a timeline. And it might be that I want to add some explanation on what each of these is showing.
