Using Copilot to import data
From the course: Copilot in Excel: Supercharge Your Financial Modeling
Using Copilot to import data
- With Excel Desktop open, let's create a new blank workbook. Once the workbook's open, let's invoke Copilot. Ah, we're being prompted to turn auto save on here before we can proceed any further. This is as simple as clicking on the radio button at the top left hand side of the screen. Now at this point, you'll be prompted to connect with your OneDrive account and also give the file a name. So let's go ahead and do that. It really doesn't matter what we call the file name at this stage because we'll be opening up an exercise file shortly. So I'm just going to call mine import data and then click on, okay, we're now good to go. Say that I want to import my sales data into this workbook. Now I could go ahead and click away at all the menu options here or search some forums, but there's a much more efficient way to do this. In the Copilot pane here over on the right hand side, let's ask the question, how do I open up a CSV file that's in my OneDrive account and let's see how we go. Oh…
