- Artificial intelligence or AI is the ability to leverage systems that can learn and thus provide intelligence that resembles human intelligence. Machine learning or ML is a form of AI that allows a machine to learn and imitate human behavior. ML is focused more on pragmatic business applications and thus the term is often used to refer to a cloud service supporting learning. For our purposes, and to avoid confusion, we'll call it ML. However, it may be important for you to take a course on both ML and AI to understand the relationship and how each concept is applied.
