Machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and deep learning
- Artificial intelligence or AI is the ability to leverage systems that can learn and thus provide intelligence that resembles human intelligence. Machine learning or ML is a form of AI that allows a machine to learn and imitate human behavior. ML is focused more on pragmatic business applications and thus the term is often used to refer to a cloud service supporting learning. For our purposes, and to avoid confusion, we'll call it ML. However, it may be important for you to take a course on both ML and AI to understand the relationship and how each concept is applied. As you can see from the list, there are many applications for AI ML, many of which we use daily. ML becomes a core design decision that you will likely have to make when leveraging technology as a true force multiplier for the business. Keep in mind that ML is a form of AI. While AI is over 40 years old, the price of supporting traditional AI and the platform requirements in support of AI had a cost well out of reach of…
