- [Lecturer] AWS provides several container services that allows you to run containerized applications, build microservices, or store your container images. They are the Amazon Elastic Container Service, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, AWS Fargate, and Amazon Elastic Container Registry. AWS also offers tools to easily migrate and manage your containers, such as AWS App2Container, or A2C, and AWS Copilot. First off, let's discuss what a container is, and how it is different from a virtual machine. Basically, a virtual machine emulates one or more computers using a single host server. A virtual machine can have the same, or a different, guest operating system than the underlying physical server, which runs the host operating system.
