Targeting for Accelerate campaigns

Last updated: 4 months ago

When you create an Accelerate campaign, you can select key targeting settings and add data sources to help you reach the professionals that mean the most to your business. Accelerate combines your product name and description, any audience signals you’ve selected, and historical data from your account’s previous campaigns to help you reach member accounts that are most likely to convert for your business based on your campaign’s objective.

Targeting settings

You can select targeting criteria for your audience, such as location, profile language, and exclusions.

  • Location - Targets the permanent or long-term location specified by the member account in their profile and/or by their IP address for short-term visits.
  • Profile language - Select one of the 35 profile languages for your target audience. Keep in mind:
    • When you select English, your campaign will target all member accounts in the location your campaign is targeting, regardless of the language member accounts have selected on their profiles. Please note, this doesn’t apply to Sponsored Messaging.
    • When you select any language other than English, your ads will appear to member accounts that meet your target audience criteria and match your language selection.
  • Exclusions - Exclude employees of your company or member accounts based on locations, contact or company lists, and third-party lists.

Audience signals

Adding audience signals can help guide Accelerate in building your campaign’s audience based on professional demographics or the characteristics and intents of the people in your data sources.

Best practices
  • The data source you choose should align to the specific behavior action you’d like to replicate.

  • Consider using Lead Gen Forms as your data source when you choose the lead generation campaign objective.

  • If you use a contact or company list that is in Updating status, we’ll use the latest completed version of that audience to create your audience. Once your update finishes processing, the audience will use that as the source going forward.

  • Your data source must have 300 or more members. You can select multiple sources within a data source type to reach 300 members. For example, if you choose Lead Gen Forms, you can select multiple Lead Gen Forms to reach 300 members.

  • You can combine options to further guide Accelerate. For example, combining job functions with job seniorities can help you reach decision-makers with specific expertise.
