Create a learning path or collection as an admin in Learning

Learning paths and collections are an easy way for LinkedIn Learning admins to recommend a set of curated courses to their organization's learners.

Important to know

Admin functionality isn’t available within the Learning apps. To access Learning Management, please use a desktop device.

Create a learning path

To create a learning path:

  1. From Learning Management, click Content and select Library from the dropdown that appears.

    You can also click  Add to the right of the admin Search bar and select Create learning path from the dropdown.

  2. Click Add in the top right corner and select Create learning path from the dropdown that appears.
  3. From the pop-up that appears, click:
    • Create new if you’d like to build a new learning path, and follow the instructions specified from Step 5.
    • Copy existing if you’d like to copy and customize an existing learning path to fit your needs. If you choose this option, click Select from the learning path you’d like to copy. You can then edit the learning path to personalize it. If you’ve never created a new learning path, click Start now.
  4. In the Create new Learning Path: Details window:
    • Add a default or custom thumbnail: Select the Default thumbnail image, or upload a Custom thumbnail image. Please note that the ability to upload thumbnails is only available with LinkedIn Learning Pro licenses.
    • Add title: The title of your learning path.
    • Add description: A summary of what the learning path is about.
    • Select content language: Select the language of the learning path.
    • Set discoverability: Define who can find this content on their homepage and in search results. Anyone within your organization can view the content with a shared link.
    • Add skills: The skills you think learners will develop after watching the learning path.
    • Add custom tags: Tags that are unique to your organization and will help learners search for the learning path.
  5. Click Create.
  6. Add a section title, Add a section description, and click Add content.

    You may select  Add existing custom content and LinkedIn Learning content or  Add new linked custom content.

  7. If you choose to add the LinkedIn Learning content, click the Add icon.
  8. When you have added all the courses and videos you would like, click Close in the top right.

  9. You can then click  Add new section or click Save & Publish in the upper right corner. Learn more about editing a learning path.

Once you click Publish, you can download the learning path to your LMS or recommend your learning path to learners in your organization.

Create a collection

To create a collection:

  1. From Learning Management, click Content and select Library from the dropdown that appears.

    You can also click  Add to the right of the admin Search bar and select Create collection from the dropdown.

  2. Click Add in the top right corner and select Create collection from the dropdown that appears.
  3. From the pop-up that appears, click
    • Create new if you’d like to build a new collection and follow the instructions specified from Step 4.
    • Copy existing if you’d like to copy and customize an existing collection to fit your needs. If you choose this option, click Select from the collection you’d like to copy. You can then edit the collection to personalize it.
  4. In the Create new: Collection window:

    • Add title: The title of your learning path.

  5. Click Create.
  6. Click Add content.
  7. You may select Add existing custom content and LinkedIn Learning content or Add new linked custom content.
  8. Search for courses by typing relevant keywords in the Add LinkedIn Learning Content box.
  9. If you choose to add LinkedIn Learning content, search for content by typing the relevant keywords and click the Add icon.
  10. When you have added all the courses and videos you’d like, click Close in the top right.
  11. Click Save & Publish in the upper right corner.
You’re also able to recommend or add to collections/learning paths directly from your learner platform. To do this, search for a piece of content, click More and select Add to your content, Share, or Recommend.
