  • 🚨We stand with educators, youth advocates, community partners and leaders in demanding what's right for our students! TAKE ACTION NOW: Demand the Immediate Release of Billions in K-12 Funding 🚨 Thank you to Rob Bonta for filing a lawsuit against the unconstitutional freeze of $6.8 BILLION in education funding by the Trump administration. These funds were already approved by Congress, and they’re critical for supporting afterschool and summer programs across the country. Their delay is hurting students and families NOW. Afterschool and summer programs aren’t political, they’re essential. Every student deserves access to safe, enriching spaces to learn, grow, and thrive. 📞 TAKE ACTION: Call your Congressional reps and demand the release of these funds today! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gVkTriZp Afterschool Alliance, California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC), California AfterSchool Network, ExpandLA #AfterschoolWorks #CAAfterschoolWorks #CALEG #SaveSummer #SupportOurStudents

  • 🚨 Urgent: Afterschool & Summer Programs at Risk 🚨 The U.S. Department of Education is currently withholding $6.9 billion in already-approved education funds, including $811 million for California.   This jeopardizes 10,000 program sites and leaves 1.4 million students across the country without access to high-quality enrichment—and more importantly, without safe, supportive spaces to learn, create, and thrive while parents and caregivers are at work.   📣 Your Voice Matters. Tell Congress: Release the funds now! 🔗 Find Your Reps: https://lnkd.in/grup5-2 🗣️ Talking points: https://lnkd.in/giZryPCt   Together, we can protect the programs our youth rely on every day. #FundAfterschoolNow #SaveSummerPrograms #SaveAfterschool #ExpandedLearningMatters #AfterschoolForAll

  • Cue the applause—Woodcraft Rangers’ 2025 Ernie Awards were a celebration to remember! 👏 🎉 #WRErnieAwards #WoodcraftWay #TeamRecognition #CelebrateExcellence

The Ernies, Woodcraft Rangers' annual staff awards, is my most favorite night of the year! 🎉 🏆 We recognize team members who are voted by their peers to have had the greatest impact on the organization. They head home with a custom bobble head of our founder, Ernest Thompson Seton. 😜 From opening new programs in new districts to making sure every delivery of supplies makes its way to sites to supporting students with special needs, this year's winners represented the absolute best of us. Special congrats to Victor Lucano and Marine Zanturyan, this year's winners of The Golden Ernie, our version of employee of the year! But what really makes it my favorite -- it's the one night when all 120 HQ team members join all 145 site coordinators. The room is bursting with joy, raucous applause from fellow team members and a spirit of camaraderie that is truly palpable. At Woodcraft Rangers, we know that recognizing and celebrating our team fills their cups so that they can continue the good work of supporting LA kids. #employeerecognition #workculture #ernies #expandedlearning #bobbleheads Andrés De La Peza Danny SalasDarlington AhaiweCelina-Marie SalinasSara M.Saraí V.Javier GonzalezYuri RuvalcabaBelinda Y.Helen MoralesBreanne Guevara

  • Meet Rehan Jaweed, Sports Coordinator! “To me, being part of the AAPI community means being connected to many cultures and traditions. It’s about respecting the past, celebrating who we are, and growing together.” As an Indian American and practicing Muslim, Rehan draws strength from his roots. Whether it’s gathering with family for Eid-al-Fitr or enjoying pani puri, his culture has shaped him with values like honesty, humility, and compassion. Growing up, Rehan looked up to athletes like Jeremy Lin and Hines Ward—people who showed him that Asian Americans can thrive on the big stage. Now, as our Sports Coordinator, he’s proud to be that kind of role model for the next generation, creating space, celebrating identity, and helping youth feel a strong sense of belonging. He’s proof that when youth see themselves reflected in their mentors, they can imagine bigger futures for themselves. Representation matters. #WoodcraftWay #AAPIHeritageMonth
