UNC Health and Duke Health selected RXR’s Veridea project for its new children's health campus, which will feature the only freestanding, independent children’s hospital in the Carolinas. The hospital will be developed on roughly 230 acres of land and will create nearly 8,000 jobs in Apex and Wake County. It will have a 500-bed children’s hospital, a children’s outpatient care center, 103 beds for children and adolescents’ behavioral health, and a research and education enterprise supported by the UNC and Duke schools of medicine. In Orlando, RXR closed on a $22.5 million investment to complete construction of Futura at Nona Cove, a 260-unit residential project in Orlando, Florida. The financing will ensure the final stage of construction is complete for delivery of the new residential building by the end of the year. Want a peek at one of the tallest buildings coming to New York City? With its bold structural latticed steel design, 175 Park Avenue serves as a symbol of the city’s 21st-century vitality. Developed by RXR and TF Cornerstone, the tower brings greater density above the world’s largest train station, combines offices and a hotel, and improves the pedestrian and commuter experience in one of the busiest parts of the city. The design responds to the rich variety of surrounding landmarks while asserting an identity that is entirely new. The project introduces 24,000 square feet of new open space, enhancing walkability and offering respite from the bustle of the street. From these human-scaled public spaces at the base, the tower steps back to create a sequence of open terraces before culminating in a striking crown. Below ground, the building’s structure delicately navigates layers of active rail infrastructure and anchors into limited available bedrock. RXR signed a letter of intent to purchase 590 Madison Avenue, a one-million-square-foot office property in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, for $1.1 billion.
