Had the pleasure of conversing with Sara Pires de Oliveira and Luca Di Tommaso on the current estate of digital pathology and AI. AI is slowly permeating pathology, but we need to have a clearer picture of the extent of digital pathology in Europe. #AI #pathology #digitalpathology Paige Humanitas University The Netherlands Cancer Institute European Society of Pathology

A new study from the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville demonstrates how Paige Prostate can be a powerful clinical adjunct in one of pathology’s most ambiguous diagnoses, atypical small acinar proliferation (ASAP). In this retrospective study of 107 prostate biopsy cores diagnosed with ASAP: • Paige Prostate provided a consistent diagnosis in 85% of cases • Significantly reduced ASAP as a final diagnosis to just 15% • Showed strong agreement with both pathologists (66% and 75% concordance) • Statistically significant inter-rater reliability across AI and pathologist diagnoses • Outperformed historical pathologist-only concordance levels seen in prior studies (~59–63%) This independent study supports Paige Prostate can help pathologists reduce diagnostic uncertainty, standardize interpretation, and inform more confident management decisions for challenging prostate biopsy cases. A big thank you to Dr. Shahla Masood and her team for leading and carrying out this study! 📖 Read the full publication: https://lnkd.in/eVMEfTrf
