June was Pride Month, so you know we had to show up for our community. Here’s how we celebrated: Pride Pit Stop with The Center We stepped out for The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center for Pride Pit Stop event in NYC. Our team handed out Milk Makeup merch and minis and helped attendees freshen up at stations stocked with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray. Wellness Series: Beauty + Identity Conversations It was our pleasure to host two incredible speakers for our Wellness Series: Dr. Carla Smith, Ed.D., CEO of The Center, shared her journey as a leader and advocate, reminding us what it means to lead with care, vision, and the community in mind. Nykita Joy, beauty creator, model, and trans advocate, spoke about the intersection of identity +  self-expression in the beauty industry.  These conversations helped us reflect on how we show up for ourselves, each other, and the larger LGBTQIA+ community—not just during Pride, but always. Supporting The Center LA Our community and influencer team delivered in-kind donations to The Center LA for their youth Pride Prom. We gifted products and provided behind-the-scenes support to help make their “Wicked” themed prom night one to remember. Doubling Down on Commitment To reinforce our values, we doubled our corporate donation to The Center for June, supporting their vital work creating safe, affirming, and life-changing spaces. We kicked off our Summer 2025 Internship Program by welcoming a stellar group of new and returning interns to Milk Makeup. To start the semester, our CEO, Tim Coolican led a conversation about his career path, the evolution of Milk Makeup, and the brand DNA that drives everything we do. Milk Makeup x The Center: Fashion Centered 2025 We’re always up for an opportunity to support our longtime partners at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center and their work for the LGBTQ+ community in NYC. This week, we turned out for Fashion Centered at the organization’s HQ on West 13th Street. This event brings leaders in fashion, design and the arts together to raise funds for The Center’s crucial programs and mental health services. It was a pleasure and an honor to attend. May Wellness Series: Honoring AAPI Heritage & Mental Health Awareness This May was all about celebrating the AAPI community and continuing our focus on workplace mental health. We welcomed three guest speakers who discussed the influence and need for AAPI voices in the beauty industry, as well as the importance of mental health: Sarah Novio (she/her), a beauty creator and artist, shared her journey finding makeup to complement her olive undertones and building a community for women of color. Michelle Lee (she/her), a beauty executive, reflected on her work shaping beauty and culture globally and the importance of inclusion in the space. Bhavik (ભાવિક) R. Shah (he/him), a mental health and DEIB strategist, offered insights on fostering mental wellness in the workplace, drawing on his experiences as a Gujarati South Asian immigrant and LGBTQ+ advocate. We also shared curated mental health resources and celebrated AAPI culture through its incredible cuisine. End of Semester Celebration & Intern Presentations at Milk Makeup Another successful intern season in the books. We wrapped up our Spring ‘25 semester, celebrating the hard work of our interns all week long. Each presented the projects they’d been working on this semester, showcasing the ideas and learnings they’ve cultivated during their time at Milk. We are so impressed + proud of their hard work. We couldn’t send them off without one last project: a hands-on floral arrangement session, so they could express their creativity and celebrate the spring season. Congratulations to all of our interns for an amazing semester. To those completing their journey at Milk, we wish you the best in your future endeavors. We know you’ll continue to do amazing things.
