Our mission is to help readers discover books they love and get more out of reading.
About us
Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. Founded in 2007, Goodreads is where readers find and share books they love. Used by avid and casual readers alike, Goodreads members can discover new books by seeing what their friends are reading or by using the Goodreads Book Recommendation Engine; share ratings and recommendations; track what they have read, and list what they want to read. Goodreads is also a place where authors connect with readers. Goodreads is a subsidiary of Amazon. Did we mention we are hiring? We are a team of 110+ people that are passionate about reading and technology, and looking for extraordinary people to join our team. Check out our open positions at www.goodreads.com/jobs

It's the most wonderful time of the year: when the Goodreads staff celebrates our love of reading with the annual "12 Days of Goodreads" tradition! So we're sharing in case this inspires you to kickstart a similar idea in your company. The rules are simple: over 12 days via email, we take turns choosing a colleague to surprise with a special book from their "Want to Read" list. Once you’re tagged, you discover which new book you’ve been gifted (squeals of delight allowed), then pass the joy along by choosing the next lucky recipient. We ‘reply all’ with each email so we can see which books are picked and the reasons the gifter has for selecting it for the recipient. For book lovers, what better way to connect with our co-workers than through our biggest shared passion: getting lost in great stories! Do you have any gifting traditions in your company?
