Rita Flynn is a lifelong storyteller. Now, instead of telling other people’s stories, she’s telling her own – and seeking to destigmatize what it’s like to live with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease. “The main thing I would recommend to people in this situation is don’t be afraid.” Learn more about her story, as we recognize Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month: https://e.lilly/4mVtwpg #EndAlz #WeAreLilly

For people with diabetes, the daily regimen of insulin therapy can be difficult to manage. We’re trying to make it simpler – 100 years after we introduced the first insulin medicine. Today we presented detailed results from multiple late-stage studies of a potential once-weekly treatment option for type 2 diabetes. Read more: https://e.lilly/43TyZFJ #ADA2025

Veer’s mother knew something was wrong with her child. Why was he always feeling weak? In resource-limited locations like Veer’s home in Maharashtra, India, it’s harder for families to quickly access health care that can give them answers. That’s where UNICEF and volunteers are helping on the ground, supporting local health care workers in better identifying and treating non-communicable diseases. Diagnosed with a heart defect, Veer and his family were able to correct the problem through surgery—and he’s once again living the active and healthy life every child deserves. There are 2 billion other kids worldwide living with non-communicable diseases that threaten their health. That’s why we continue to support UNICEF USA, which supports efforts to address non-communicable diseases through early prevention, detection, and treatment for children in resource-limited settings in low- and middle-income countries. Everyone should have a chance at better health. Read more: https://e.lilly/4n7vxyQ #WeAreLilly #HealthyStarts

For people with diverse skin tones like Lillian, moderate-to-severe eczema (atopic dermatitis) may appear differently, such as gray, purple or dark brown patches—which can contribute to delays in diagnosis. To address the unique needs of people with pigmented skin, we’re advancing research that deepens understanding of eczema in diverse patient populations from diagnosis to treatment. Watch Lillian’s story to learn why inclusive research is so important: https://e.lilly/4e3ra3A #WeAreLilly

Imagine using the power of AI to help design medicines that target diseases no human has been able to solve. Or making connections in scientific data that are too hard for people to see – and what that could mean for tailoring medicines to a patient’s specific needs. Our chief digital guru, Diogo Rau , sat down with The Atlantic’s “Most Interesting Thing in AI” podcast to talk about how we’re using cutting-edge technology to create better medicines for the future. Check out the conversation at link below. #WeAreLilly
This week on the podcast: My conversation with Diogo Rau, Chief Digital Officer at Eli Lilly and Company, about using AI in drug discovery in 3 fascinating ways: 1. Teaching AI to "read" DNA like it might read text. 2. Creating custom proteins that could become new medicines. 3. Searching vast numbers of drug combinations—much more than a human ever could. Plus: while other companies were banning ChatGPT, Lilly encouraged employees to use it. Why? I also chat with PwC's Chief AI Officer Dan Priest. Listen to the episode, where Diogo also describes a slightly embarrassing email I sent out when we were classmates in college: https://lnkd.in/exXD_Gc2 Produced by Atlantic Re:think, our creative marketing studio, with PwC, the sponsor of this podcast.
