What's worse than the stress caused by your home renovation? Heading into the process without clear information on what to expect. Parade Home & Garden highlights some transparent facts uncovered by Block Renovation's original research: "[A]ccording to a study by AI renovation platform Block Renovation, more than 85% of homeowners experienced stress during their renovations. Even worse, 39% of Millennials said that renovating strained their relationships. Yikes!" 57% of homeowners experience "renovation fatigue" -- the emotional exhaustion caused by prolonged renovation processes, decision overload, and anxiety about costs. How can you mitigate the stress and fatigue of renovating? Fully understand the process before you start and prepare to be flexible. Surprises are common once you start to open up walls -- and much less unpleasant if you know they are coming! https://lnkd.in/ezmakSmn

We are excited to share "How America Renovates", the first annual insights report by Block Renovation. We surveyed over 1,000 homeowners across the US who have recently completed or are planning major renovations. What emerged is a picture of homeowners who are investing deeply into their homes -- both financially and emotionally -- while shouldering substantial stress in the process and increasingly turning to technology for help. Here's what we uncovered: - 73% of homeowners are dipping into personal savings to fund renovations - Nearly 40% of them are going over budget - Over 20% of homeowners -- and 39% of Millennials -- report that renovations strained their relationships with loved ones - Younger homeowners are increasingly using AI to plan their renovations, particularly when it comes to design and budgeting A lot of renovation content shows transformational before-and-afters but hides how challenging the renovation process can be. We believe in transparency -- empowering homeowners with transparent data, personalized tools, and vetted contractors so they can renovate confidently. https://lnkd.in/eZxkEq7v Congrats to Carolyn Hsu Molly Desmond Ecesu B. on the launch!

Love to see Block Renovation's original research featured in HousingWire! "Amid higher interest rates and a tight housing market, U.S. homeowners are increasingly choosing to renovate rather than relocate — and many are doing so under financial and emotional strain, according to a newly released nationwide survey. A report released by Block Renovation, based on responses from more than 1,000 homeowners, paints a detailed picture of the home renovation experience in 2025. Findings show that the majority of homeowners are digging into their savings to fund home upgrades while battling budget overruns, delays and emotional stress... Renovation has become a financial necessity for many." https://lnkd.in/e3SCwGQe

Great piece by Good Housekeeping featuring original insights by Block Renovation. The process of renovating can be stressful, with occasional unpleasant surprises. Ultimately, that often strains relationships with the people we love most. "According to Block Renovation's latest report, 15% of boomers and 22% of Gen Xers reported tension with a partner or loved one compared to 39% of millennials, who said the process put a strain on their relationships." The best way to get ahead of the stress and disagreements? Plan out a clear scope and budget, communicate transparently on the tradeoffs you are willing to make, and hire a vetted contractor you trust. https://lnkd.in/e7TNEcKa

It was good to chat with Samantha Delouya at CNN about the impact of tariff uncertainty on home renovations. Most contractors are waiting to see how tariffs will impact their businesses. Every renovation is personalized and different, so it's challenging for contractors to stockpile materials in advance. Many homeowners plan and dream about their renovations for years, and some are accelerating their projects to take advantage of tariff-free prices while they last. Others are reducing project scope or waiting for more clarity on trade policy and price changes. A big thank you to Nina Sepiashvily, who runs I&N Builders, one of Block Renovation's valued contractor partners and a proud woman-led GC, for contributing to the conversation. https://lnkd.in/e5XG78vY
