🌟 We had a blast today gift-wrapping toys with my Big Lots HR family for "A Kid Again"! 💗 A Kid Again provides hope, happiness, and healing for families raising a child with a life-threatening condition. They do this by helping the kids and families gain back moments of positive, family-shared experiences through monthly cost-free, care-free events called Adventures. One of A Kid Again's biggest events of the year is their holiday party! They welcome 2,500 children and their families for a free day of holiday fun and merriment. At the party, each child receives a holiday toy — this year, Big Lots provided all of the gifts for the party through our amazing gift assortment! Today, on National Philanthropy Day, we’re reflecting on the power of community and kindness. 🧡 With the support of our incredible customers and associates, we're thrilled to share that our fall campaign for the The Kids Mental Health Foundation (KMHF) received over 2M donations totaling $1.79M! Last month, we held a special fundraiser for the KMHF's Kindness Kits, raising over $107,000 in just four days. With these funds, we provided 4,287 kits to schools, each packed with resources to support kids who need it, reaching 128,610 children! Year-to-date, we've raised nearly $4M for the KMHF. This Veterans Day, we are honored to celebrate the incredible veterans who are part of the Big Lots family. Their service has shaped who they are today—and the values they bring into our stores every day inspire us all. We asked a few of our veteran associates to share their stories and what being part of Big Lots means to them. From the camaraderie they experienced in the military to the community they’ve found here, their journeys remind us that service doesn’t end with a uniform—it’s a lifelong commitment to making a difference. Thanks to the kindness and support of our customers and associates, together we've raised more than $2 million so far this year for The Kids Mental Health Foundation, providing critical resources for kids, parents, and educators nationwide. Continuing in that effort, and in observance of World Mental Health Day, today, we've also launched the "Kindness Kits Challenge," a special four-day event Oct. 10-13, that raises funds at checkout to support distributing kindness kits to local elementary schools, helping kids build important mental wellness skills in the classroom.
