Tomorrow we honor Juneteenth — a powerful reminder of both progress and hinderance. We recognize that deep-rooted inequities still exist, and we believe that communication that is honest, inclusive, and community-centered is a tool for empowerment and change. #Juneteenth #EmpowerCommunities #InclusiveCommunication #ArellanoAssociates

We are proud to announce that the APA Los Angeles will award Los Angeles Metro its #Planning Excellence award to our Long Beach - East Los Angeles Corridor Mobility Investment Plan at its June 26, 2025, Planning Awards Gala! Come on out and celebrate with us, as well with our colleagues that will be recognized for their work on the Vermont Transit Corridor! We give thanks to the community members and Task Force representatives that helped us craft the LB-ELA CMIP to drive benefits into the corridor communities and transportation system in a multimodal, equity-focused manner. The CMIP reflects their vision, values, and contributions, so this award is recognition for their work over 2.5 years to rethink how we invest in a multimodal transportation corridor that carries national freight significance and generates many major local impacts. Looking forward to celebrating with our team that delivered this groundbreaking investment plan, including Metro leaders KeAndra Cylear Dodds, Jessica Medina, Akiko Yamagami, Lucy Olmos Delgadillo, Lilian De Loza-Gutierrez, Rena Lum, Avital Barnea, Patrick C., Jennifer Butler, Lorena Sanchez and others + our consultant teams comprising AECOM, Arellano Associates, Cambridge Systematics, Inc., Here LA, Ramboll, North Star Alliances, Erika Morales, and Robert Cálix. Thank you to our leadership at Metro that guided us in our delivery of this plan, including our Board, CEO Stephanie Wiggins and Chief Planning Officers Jim de la Loza and Ray Sosa, and our partners at Caltrans District 7 led by Director Gloria Roberts and the Gateway Cities Council of Governments led by Executive Director Hector De La Torre and former ED Nancy Pfeffer. Much work is ahead of us to deliver this ambitious, comprehensive plan, and we look forward to kicking it off in the coming fiscal year.
