ABS teamed up with Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), through its Fleet Engineering & Shipbuilding Projects Group, to deliver a focused workshop on maritime sustainability and future fuels. The session brought together senior representatives from both organizations, including Eng. Emad Nasser, Director, Fleet Engineering & Shipbuilding Projects, KOTC; Salim Alshuhoumi, Team Leader, Fleet Engineering, KOTC; Dheeraj Sharma FICS AFNI, Vice President, Marine and Offshore Regional Business Development, Middle East and Africa, ABS; Rostom Merzouki MSc CEng CMarEng MIMarEST, Vice President, Global Sustainability, ABS; Christopher Pirocco, Manager, Regulatory Affairs, ABS; and HAMDY M. RAKHA, Manager, Regional Business Development, Middle East and Africa, ABS. Discussions focused on the future of LNG and alternative fuels, evolving trends in the #maritime supply chain, and the latest updates from the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC). ABS was honored to attend the sailaway ceremony of the P-78 FPSO at the Seatrium Benoi Yard in Singapore. This new ABS-classed FPSO has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day and will be used in the world's largest deepwater oil field, the Búzios field, operated by Petrobras. In celebration of the impending delivery of the PETROBRAS 78 (P78) - the first of a series of turnkey Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO), to Brazil’s National Oil Company, Petrobras, Seatrium hosted a memorable sailaway ceremony at its Benoi yard in Singapore! 🇸🇬🇧🇷 In attendance of over 270 esteemed guests and partners, including Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development and His Excellency Mr Luciano Mazza de Andrade, we celebrated this momentous occasion with fanfare and appreciation of the solid teamwork that went behind this landmark project! 🤝 🥳 A big shout out to our #OneSeatrium colleagues, our client Petrobras and industry partners for their dedication and commitment towards the P78! Upon delivery, the P78 will rank among the largest in the global operating fleet of FPSOs - with an impressive production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), 7.2 million cubic metres (mcbm) of gas per day, and a storage capacity of 2 million barrels of oil. It will be deployed in Brazil’s prolific Buzios field, the largest deepwater oil field globally. At Seatrium, we take great pride in delivering the first in a series of #EPC FPSOs for Petrobras. The P78 is our 37th FPSO project. Leveraging our One Seatrium Global Delivery Model, we effectively harness our global presence to ensure successful project execution.
